Harrisburg stands front and center in the latest installation at Riverfront Gallery. The exhibit features photographic prints of local cityscapes by Justin Ward that reveal the allure of the capital city.

Riverfront Gallery, a community art venue organized by the outreach ministry, opens a new exhibit this week during 3rd in the Burg.  The exhibit runs from April 19th, 2019 until June 21st, 2019.

Riverfront Gallery is open during city-wide “3rd in the Burg” on the third Friday of each month. The venue displays the artwork of regional artists at these events when the cathedral is open without any religious services. Instead, we open our doors to our neighbors to offer art, light refreshments, and often live music.

Twenty percent of proceeds from art sales benefit community programs in the city as Downtown Daily Bread and the Joshua Group. The remaining 80 percent goes to the artist.

Stop by during Riverfront Gallery events over the next three months to support these local artists, musicians, and community programs!

JUSTIN WARD: Featured Artist

Justin Ward is a self-taught photographer. Having lived his entire life in Central Pennsylvania, Justin has a deep-rooted appreciation for the natural resources and history of the area. He loves to travel as much as possible, attempting to understand the world better, and to see and photograph its beauty.

The urban landscapes included in this exhibit are part of Justin’s mission to showcase the beauty of the area he calls home.

“I like to think of myself as a visual storyteller,” Ward writes. “I love capturing images that evoke a certain emotion in the viewer. When photographing landscapes, I want you to feel as if you are present in the scene.”

Justin’s work has been exhibited at numerous locations, including the Art Association of Harrisburg, the Historic Harrisburg Association and Harrisburg City Hall. His photographs have been featured in TheBurg Magazine and Nikon USA, among others.

In addition, to landscape photography, he also enjoys capturing images of children, family portraits, documentary and lifestyle photography, as well as weddings and other special events.
