This December, why not celebrate Christmas in Harrisburg? St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral has a full schedule of worship and music approaching the Christmas season. Check out our schedule below for a full listing of events.

All are welcome at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral. The Cathedral is wheelchair accessible. Children are always welcome in our church. We are an open and affirming congregation. Information about parking is available here.

Advent Evensong: December 1st @ 6:00 pm & December 15th @ 6:00pm

Evensong is the evening prayer of the church. The service is lead by a choir which sings anthems, hymns and responses for the service. Those in the congregation can participate by joining in the singing of the hymns and by raising their own prayer during the service. The cathedral is offering two Evensong services during the season of Advent. Advent is the season of the church year in which Christians prepare for the celebration of Christmas.

A Celtic Eucharist: December 14th @ 5:00pm

On the second Saturday of every month, the Cathedral holds a Celtic Eucharist service, with music from Seasons. The blend of Celtic music and Celtic-inspired prayers draws a faithful following each month.

Blue Christmas: December 21st @ 5:00pm

For some, the holiday season brings back painful feelings of grief, hurt and loss. The Cathedral offers a special service for those who face these challenges. Click here for more information.
