Parish Health Update

Beth Seng, BS, RN, our Parish Health Nurse, recently completed the Parish Nursing and Congregational Health Ministry Course taught by Dr. Ruth Stoll, DNSc., RN, which was sponsored by the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The class, comprised of 11 nurses from a variety of denominations, was held one Saturday of each month for 8 months at the Medical Center. Beth has held the position of Parish Nurse since June 2006, when Liz Fite retired. You may recall that Ruth Stoll was one of the founders of the Parish Health Ministry program at the Cathedral.

Supporting Bishop Baxter's Consecretion

The Parish Health Ministry was also present at the October 2006 Consecretion of Bishop Baxter, providing first aid, physical assistance and direction to guests. The South Central Pennsylvania EMS provided on-site.standby services, which thankfully, were not needed.

Can you Help?

The Parish Health Ministry Team needs Volunteers. We need helpers who, as needed, can provide assistance in the way of a phone call, ride to the doctor, a visit, a card or a meal delivery to anyone of our parishioners in need. Won’t you please consider this opportunity to bring a smile and helping hand to our fellow parishioners? A BIG “thank you” to everyone who is already involved in this essential outreach.

Prayer List

A reminder to help us keep all prayer list information up to date, both for those with illness and for those in the Military. Please call the church office where the information will be given to the clergy and the PHM team. The clergy are always available. The Parish Health Office is open on Thursdays from 8 am -2 pm. Beth Seng and Helen Hendrickson are available at other times by calling the church office.
